The Demonstration of Praise

  • SINGING – “Sing praises to the Lord, enthroned in Zion; proclaim among the nations what He has done” (Psalm 9:11)  “Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs.  Sing and make music in your hearts to the Lord. (Ephesians 5:19)

     “Praise the Lord with the harp; make music to Him on the ten-stringed lyre.  Sing to Him a new song, play skillfully, and shout for joy.” (Psalm 33:2) 

    AUDIBLE PRAISE – “Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise-the fruit of lips that confess His name.”  (Hebrews 13:15) 

    SILENCE
    – “But the Lord is in His holy temple; let all the earth keep silence before Him.”  (Habakkuk 2:20)

    (I Timothy 2:8).

    BOWING DOWN – “But I, by your great mercy, will come into your house; in reverence will I bow down toward your holy temple.” (Psalm 5:7).  “Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.” (Psalm 95:6).   “I will bow down toward your holy temple and will praise your name for your love and your faithfulness, for you have exalted above all things your name and your word.” (Psalm 138:2). 

    KNEELING – “When Solomon had finished all these prayers and supplications to the Lord, he rose from before the altar of the Lord, where he had been kneeling with his hands spread toward heaven...” (I Kings 8:54)  “For this reason I kneel before the Father.” (Ephesians 3:14) 

    PROSTRATION – “…Then Joshua fell facedown to the ground in reverence, and asked him, ‘What message does my Lord have for His servant?’” (Joshua 5:14)  “Jehoshaphat bowed his face to the ground, and all the people of Judah and Jerusalem fell down in worship before the Lord.” (II Chronicles 20:18)
